My Thought after Revisiting Western Hunan and Dongting Lake

湘西一梦六十年，
故地依稀别有天。
I revisit Western Hunan after sixty years that flies by just like a dream.
My home town seems vaguely different from the past to me.
吉首学中多俊彦，
张家界顶有神仙。
Out of Jishou city have come many talent-and-virtue people.
On top of the mountain in Zhangjiajie live immortals.
熙熙新市人兴旺，
濯濯童山意怏然。
People are peaceful and happy in the new flourishing city,
But I am disheartened by the bald mountain.
浩浩汤汤何日现，
葱茏不见梦难圆
When can vast waters appear again in the Dongting Lake ?
My dream will never come true without seeing the luxuriant green.
